Large‑Scale VRV Installation for Hotel Development

Project Overview :

Tailored Air Limited was appointed to deliver the air‑conditioning installation for a new hotel development. The project required a high‑capacity, energy‑efficient VRV solution capable of providing reliable comfort control across multiple hotel zones, while meeting a demanding construction program.

The scope included the installation and commissioning of a large VRV system, combining indoor fan coil units with multiple outdoor systems, all coordinated within a tight site program and alongside other building services.

 

Project Scope :

  • Installation of 87 fan coil units (FCUs) throughout the hotel across 18 BC Boxes

  • Installation of 9 Samsung VRV Condensing Units 

  • Full refrigerant pipework installation and coordination

  • Rooftop plant deck installation with exposed services

  • System commissioning and readiness for handover

 

Key Challenges :

  • Delivering a project of this scale presented several challenges:

  • High unit count: Managing the installation and commissioning of 87 FCUs across multiple floors and zones.

  • System integration: Ensuring nine VRV systems operated seamlessly as a coordinated solution.

  • Program pressure: Working to a tight construction schedule without impacting other trades.

  • Aesthetic standards: Achieving a clean, professional finish—particularly on visible rooftop pipework and plant.
